Our Tax Status

The Mariposa Men’s Wellness Institute became a federal 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit organization on February 1, 2003.

Financial Assistance Requested

We are seeking charitable donations to our nonprofit. The Executive Director is familiar with the whole topic of fundraising and knows quite well that personal relationships are critical to donor interest in contributing to a nonprofit organization.

People who have been affected by the issues about which we will be educating the public, either individually or by association, with a male friend or family member who has experienced these issues (sexual trauma or violence); or persons who generally understand the need for pubic education about men’s wellness or the health role of fathers in our society are the kinds of people who would generally be willing to assist the nonprofit with financial donations. Again, we would be more than happy to sit down with such individuals or groups, to explain our program and approach, and to delineate in more detail our mission and organizational goals. Please write to us at either the email or postal address listed in the sidebar, let us know who you are and how to get in touch with you, and we will get back to you promptly.

If you wish to send us a tax-deductible charitable donation check, you can do so by writing the check to: Mariposa Men’s Wellness Institute, P.O. Box 190371, St. Louis, MO 63119. All donations will be gladly accepted in support of our education and training projects.

In-Kind Assistance Needed

In addition to financial donations, we are in need of the following:

  1. office space

  2. computers (preferably Apple products)

  3. printers and other peripherals

  4. office furniture

Board of Directors

We need to expand our Board of Directors, and would like to include more individuals who are both interested in promoting the issue of men’s emotional wellness and in assisting the organization with aggressive fundraising. We also actively desire a racially and ethnically diverse board. If you are interested in that kind of involvement and are willing to devote upwards of 10 - 20 hours a month in such a volunteer task, we would like to hear from you.

Pro-Bono Professional Volunteers

We need the assistance of at least two individuals who would be willing to serve as a pro-bono fundraising executive, who can advise us on methods of generating funding, and a pro-bono accountant/bookkeeper. Please contact us if you have the requisite skills, an interest in our mission, and are willing to take on those tasks.

Other Volunteer Assistance

Once we get our programs “up and running” (and we have already planned a most extensive number of programs which will implement various aspects of our mission), we will need volunteers to assist us. In particular, we plan to initiate a series of conferences in the St. Louis area focused on men’s emotional wellness, with an emphasis on both male sexual trauma and men in intimate relationships (yes, there is a connection between those three issues). While we won’t need volunteers immediately for that task, we would be glad to place your name on a volunteer list for future reference.

Observations Of Our Readers

Finally, we welcome your feedback on what you have read on our pages. If you would like to comment or if you feel you have an article that adds to our overall mission (with the acceptance of our agreement and editing), please write to us and we will give ample consideration to that input.

We hope that the Mariposa Men’s Wellness Institute website serves to educate our readers on the issues we are striving to market and promote. We hope to continue spreading the world about the need for men’s emotional wellness and about men’s ability to change in healthy ways, to accommodate and actively participate in positive societal change.
